HyCARE: Hydrogen CArrier for Renewable Energy storage
Poster at the Gordon Research Conference (GRC) Castelldefels, Barcellona, Spain
Erika Dematteis, post-doc at CNRS, presents the concept and the research behind the HYCARE project. She focuses on the advantages and challenges of storing hydrogen in the form of a metallic hydride.
Towards large-scale hydrogen storage in TiFe intermetallic compounds: state of art and outlook
Talk at the Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) Castelldefels, Barcellona, Spain
Erika Dematteis, post-doc at CNRS, presents TiFe alloys as low-cost and efficient intermetallic compounds for hydrogen storage. She discusses TiFe characteristics and the results of partial substitution of Fe by Mn.
The 2nd project meeting of HyCARE has been held at CNRS in Thais (France). The Project Officer Dr. Nikolaos Lymperopoulos was present at the meeting. The hydrogen carrier has been selected and details on the PCM have been fixed. Possible tank designs have been discussed, planning further activities.
Our researcher Erika De Matteis presents her paper “Towards large-scale hydrogen storage in TiFe intermetallic compounds: state of art and outlook” as invited speaker at the Gordon Research Seminars at Castelldefels, Spain.
The project consortium launches the HyCARE Project at the Department of Chemistry of the University of Turin. The overall project structure, the partners’ roles, the expected output and impact are presented. The project aims at developing a hydrogen storage prototype that advanced the state of the art from TRL 3 to TRL5. The Project is a Research and Innovation Action funded by the Fuel Cell ad Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU).
